Bill Williams Monument Plans Unveiled
Bill Williams Monument Plans page 2

One reason the monument will be such a bargain is that Mr. Pettit will have access to the NAU Foundry for the final castings. It is protected that the casting process alone would cost nearly $16,000 if it were contracted out.

Presentations have been made to three local organizations: The Williams Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce, The Bill Williams Mountain Men, and The Williams Business Association. The Bill Williams Mountain Men expressed their support for the project, shortly after a presentation by Dennis and Doug Wells, by handing over a check for $1000 to Doug Wells.

An account has been established at First National Bank. A donation toward this project can be declared a tax exempt donation for income tax purposes. When completed the monument will be donated to the City of Williams and the City Council will decide the location, the only stipulation being that it is placed along Bill Williams Avenue. All expenditures will be documented and every check must be signed by both Bill Pettit and a monument committee member.

Members of the monument committee are: Mayor Bob Eddingfield, Doug Wells, Roger Weise, Bob Tarlasky, Diz Dean, John Wamble, and Dennis Wells.
